In this dissertation I use Trover, an app which specialises in geo-tagging, publishing and sharing travel photography. It was ideally suited to curate images of artworks and it allowed me to develop a public digital space for sharing and commenting on artworks. However, in the summer of 2020, Trover was bought up by Expedia and as a result, the app has been removed and all links have been relocated to Expedia where any images I have uploaded on Trover have now been redirected. All context has now been lost and underlines the precarious trust we have in 'free' online platform that are run by commercial interests over which we have no control.
